3D Hand Drawings

This art project is fun and simple yet creates a neat 3D effect that looks complex.

Step 1: First place your hand on the paper at an angle, then trace lightly with a pencil.

Step 2: With a black crayon or marker (fine point markers work best) freehand draw straight lines across the paper, except when you get to a pencil line “bump” the line until the next pencil line and then continue going straight.

Step 3: Keep drawing straight {or curved} lines until you have filled up your paper, making sure you “bump” every time you get to a pencil line. The closer the lines are to each other the better the illusion. See more 3D hand illusions here.

Have fun creating 3D images of other objects by tracing cookie cutters of hearts, leaves, stars, etc.
